We have always had dogs in my family, and they’ve always been family members to me. Throughout my teenage years, my parents had 3 dogs over time. Just a few months ago, the oldest dog, Mocha, passed away. The youngest dog of the bunch, Bandit has always held a special place in my mother’s heart. He is a strong, big dog… with a big, big heart. She rescued him when he was a puppy and besides being incredibly handsome, he also has always had a way of knowing things before we do and figures people out too 😉 We have always joked in my family that boyfriends of mine and my friends growing up had to pass the “Bandit test” to see if he liked them. Unfortunately, Bandit’s health has taken a turn for the worst lately. He has been very, very sick and we aren’t sure how much time we have left with our big handsome boy. He was allowed to come home from the hospital this past weekend, and despite the bitter cold, I really felt the need to capture him and my parents together. It is so easy for me to forget WHY I love photography so much when I do it for my job… being able to capture these moments that we may never get back. That is why I do what I do.
So here is to my parents… and Bandit. And there is also one shot of their kitten Echo, she was wondering what all the fuss was about 😉
